What is a TCPPA Workshop?

A TCPPA Workshop is an in-depth training event on a specified topic, usually 3-4 hours (or 6.5 hours or more to qualify for a PPA service merit) in length held the day before or after our scheduled monthly events. All TCPPA workshops are led by an instructor or featured speaker. TCPPA Members and guests pay an additional registration fee for workshops. Locations may vary. Attendance is limited for most workshops, and registration is on a first-come first-served basis.

with Allison Tyler Jones

Who this workshop is for:

  • Photographers curious about video but unsure where to start

  • Wedding and event photographers wanting to add highlight films

  • Portrait and branding photographers interested in corporate and interview video

  • Beginners and intermediates who want clarity, not complexity

If you have ever thought, “I want to offer video, but I don’t want to mess it up,” this workshop was built for you.

From fast-paced weddings to polished corporate interviews, this full-day workshop is designed specifically for photographers ready to add video without feeling overwhelmed. Nikon Ambassador Ben Davis breaks video down into simple, achievable steps, focusing on real-world situations and affordable tools that deliver professional results.

Review the Workshop Structure

This workshop is intentionally designed to move from foundation to application.

Video Foundations Made
Simple

Learn camera settings, stabilization options, and workflow basics that create cinematic results without expensive gear.

Wedding & Event Video Techniques

Explore how to work with fast movement, mixed lighting, emotional moments, and quick audio solutions. Includes live demonstrations and guided shooting.

Corporate and Interview Video Techniques

Learn controlled lighting setups, framing for interviews, and professional audio strategies. You will practice creating clean, usable interview footage.

Hands-on Shooting
Station

Rotate through two real-world setups in small groups: Wedding and Event Station with stabilization and ambient light adjustments, and Corporate and Interview Station with lighting, framing, and audio. Ben provides real-time coaching and feedback throughout.

Editing Without
Overthinking

See how to organize footage, build a short highlight, and create a polished interview cut using simple tools and efficient workflows. You will create a 30-second sequence during the workshop.

Turning Skills Into
Income

Learn how to package and price video services in a way that feels natural and profitable. Participants receive sample pricing guides, scripts, and a first-project checklist to put everything into action.
