What is a TCPPA Workshop?
A TCPPA Workshop is an in-depth training event on a specified topic, usually 3-4 hours (or 6.5 hours+ to qualify for a PPA service merit) in length held the day before or after our scheduled monthly events. All TCPPA workshops are led by an instructor or featured speaker. TCPPA Members and guests pay an additional registration fee for workshops. Locations may vary. Attendance is limited for most workshops, and registration is on a first-come first-served basis.

Alison, owner of Carlino’s Photography and Lit Media Texas, is known for delivering high-impact, collegiate-style Media Day experiences for high school athletes, blending bold hero portraits, skill-based action imagery, and cinematic hype content. This is not theory. This is real-world execution, from start to finish.
This workshop is designed for intermediate photographers who:
• Are comfortable shooting in manual exposure
• Have a working knowledge of manual flash
• Own a 2–3 light strobe and modifier setup
• Want to level up their sports and Media Day work
What makes this workshop different?
This is not a classroom presentation.
You will join Alison on site at a sports venue as she runs a full Media Day experience on the field or court. You will see how she:
Directs athletes with confidence and clarity
Moves efficiently through hero portraits and action skills
Builds lighting setups that are powerful, repeatable, and mobile
Coaches authentic expressions that elevate the final images
Captures behind-the-scenes footage to create a hype film
You will observe the entire workflow as Alison demonstrates first, explaining not just the how, but the why behind each decision.
If you own a 2–3 light strobe and modifier setup, you will have the opportunity to photograph an athlete yourself using the techniques demonstrated

Alison Carlino
Alison Carlino photographs and educates around the world. As a former master degreed elementary teacher, she can relate to students both technically and personally.
In her 22nd year of business, she hosts multi and single day workshops on the topics of off camera lighting, modern posing, team sports, high school seniors, and night sky photography. She is a member of and teaches/judges for WPPI, PPA/Imaging, SWPP London, PPGH, Texas School of Professional Photography, TxPPA, and SYNC Sports. Alison Faith Fine Art Photography showcases Alison’s landscape and night skies photography.
